High Flying Spirit

It seems the Otago Spirit are having a vintage season with wins over Taranaki, Northland, Tasman, North Harbour and Hawke’s Bay. Not only have they been winning, they’ve been playing some fantastic rugby and are great to watch at the moment. Unfortunately the Farah Palmer Cup  table details at allblacks.com is sadly lacking in updated information or finals details which is disappointing however no doubt the Spirit will be playing their finals footy here in Dunedin.

Spirit Remain Unbeaten

Otago Spirit Defeat North Harbour

The Otago Spirit have remained unbeaten in the Farah Palmer Cup with a 90 – 0 victory over North Harbour at Forsyth Barr Stadium this afternoon.

After a fast start start by both sides, it was the Otago side that struck first and opened the scoring with two quick tries and continued the attack throughout the half going into halftime with a 45 – 0  lead.

Early second half tries and strong running by the Otago backs ensured the scoreboard kept ticking over in the second half. Otago ran out 90 – 0 winners to make it a perfect 4 from 4 from start to their Farah Palmer Cup Championship campaign.

The Spirits next match will be against Hawkes Bay on Saturday, 5th October.
